Anne Duff has the unique background of having attended Fort Wayne Community Schools, of having worked for FWCS as a counselor and of being the parent of three children who currently attend FWCS.
When I first met Anne, she was a PTA officer, and she was concerned about the impact of school reform policies. Because of her intense interest in schools, Anne became a member of NEIFPE (Northeast Indiana Friends of Public Education), a local grass-roots group that is working to inform and engage the public about issues regarding education. Through NEIFPE, Anne has done a great deal of research on education issues, and she has become a strong advocate for public schools. She also attends nearly all of the FWCS Board meetings. She also travels to Indianapolis frequently to attend legislative hearings and State Board meetings about education. She cares about doing the right things for all children.
If 80 percent of success is just about showing up, then Anne Duff is more than successful. When there is a task or a mission or a cause that Anne believes in, she does more than show up; she throws herself into whatever she sets her mind to, and with little fanfare, she accomplishes whatever she sets out to do.
Since Anne announced her candidacy, she has been out in neighborhoods nearly every day, talking with people, and encouraging them not only to vote for her, but also to get involved in advocating for public schools.
Because of Anne’s intelligence, her energy, and her tenacity, I strongly support her, and I encourage you to vote for her for at-large school board.
